Leave the frame assembled if you are unsure how it comes apart. A clear photo of the joints is more useful than a bag of unidentified hardware.

When simple disassembly helps

Basic metal rails that unhook without force can be separated and bundled. Remove drawers from storage beds and keep hardware in a labeled bag if you plan to reuse or donate the frame.

When to stop

Do not force seized bolts, cut powered bases, or dismantle built-in components. Stop if the frame is unstable, has exposed sharp edges, or is connected to electrical or medical equipment.

Protect the room

Clear bedding and floor clutter. Put removed hardware in a container, lean long rails where they cannot fall, and protect nearby walls or flooring.

Information that improves the estimate

Send the bed size, frame material, photos of the assembled bed and joints, floor level, and the narrowest turn. Say whether the mattress and other bedroom furniture are part of the same pickup.
